Licensing an Adapter

To activate and use the adapter, each TA adapter must be licensed separately. If the adapter is purchased after the original TA installation, you will receive a new license file authorizing the use of the adapter.

TA supports these license types:

  • a demo license that is used for a specified period of time before it expires (for example, 30 days);

  • a permanent license.

To license an adapter:

  1. Stop the TA Master:

    Windows:

    1. Click Start and navigate to All Programs > Tidal Automation > Scheduler > Service Control Manager.

    2. Verify that the Master is displayed in the Service list and click Stop to halt the Master.

    UNIX: Enter tesm stop.

  1. Create the license file:

    • For a permanent license, rename your permanent license file to master.lic.

    • For a demo license, create a file called demo.lic, and enter demo code in the newly created file.

  2. Place the file in the C:\Program Files\TIDAL\Scheduler\Master\config directory.

  3. Start the Master:

    Windows: Click Start in the Service Control Manager.

    UNIX: Enter tesm start.

The Master reads and applies the license when it starts.

To validate that the license was applied, click Registered License on the System Configuration > Activities menu.
